The cactus,
the ultimate emblem of resilience,
I worship with my heart
clogged up in my throat
and coughing
the petrol of death,
of every men,
burning in the omnipresent sun.
In abject poverty,
lives
scorched into oblivion,
and the tar of the sands
bubbled up
to reveal me an ash mound,
pound of grains
swept away by the everlasting winds.
