that silk fabric of the Universe

I’ve worn for a cloak

wove’ by the gentle hands

of the Prince of Peace.

the soft sands of Spirit and the Soul

I’ve tread with bare feet

blistered, raw like iron

torched holy and clean.

those gold shores of God—Her Glory’s Light

I’ve held like a pearl

’in the body’s shell, sighed

with my toes in the Sea.
