The World of the Mango

What a wild excursion

into the world of the mango;

consumption of a slick fruit,

and in yellows and oranges

a flood through the mouth,

flavours populating the tongue

with sours and sweets

together, a symphonic dialogue

between two different sides

of the taste spectrum. What a wild

burst, but it is no berry, nor citrus—

it is its own delight, its own thing,

merciful and welcoming, a production

of rarity, a theatrical enjoyment,

a lush spectacle of gold.
